Starbucks Offers Digital Stamps in NFT to US Customers, Bonuses Included
JAKARTA – In a new post on Monday, September 12, Starbucks announced it will offer its members in the US the ability to acquire and purchase digital collectible stamps in the form of non-exchangeable tokens, or NFTs.
Dubbed the “Starbucks Odyssey,” each collectible digital stamp has a verified ownership on the blockchain and will include a point value based on its rarity. As more stamps are collected, member points will increase, and can unlock access to unique experiences.
The iconic coffee chain says rewards range from receiving virtual espresso martini-making classes to accessing unique merchandise to exclusive event invites at Starbucks Reserve Roasteries. Maybe even a trip to the Starbucks coffee farm at Hacienda Alsacia in Costa Rica.
Members can earn NFT by playing interactive coffee-themed games or taking on fun challenges at Starbucks Odyssey, which will launch later this year. Users can also buy NFT in the marketplace without the need to connect their wallets or use any cryptocurrencies.

All stamps will feature iconic Starbucks artwork created in collaboration with Starbucks partners and outside artists. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the limited edition stamps will be donated to support the cause of the creators.
The NFT itself is printed on the proof-of-stake blockchain created by Polygon. Regarding the development, Brady Brewer, Starbucks vice president and head of marketing, said:
"We are entering the Web3 space differently than any other brand while deepening our members' connections to Starbucks. Our vision is to create a place where our digital community can gather over coffee, engage in immersive experiences, and celebrate Starbucks heritage and future."
