Pertamina Affirms Criminal Threats For Persons Misusing Subsidized Fuel
JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Central Java reminded the official BBM (fuel) distribution agency or Pertamina gas stations located in Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) to ensure that subsidized fuel transactions at gas stations are by their designated by applicable regulations.
Area Manager of Communication, Relations, & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the Central Java Region of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Brasto Galih Nugroho emphasized that Pertamina will take firm action if it is proven that there are distributors that sell fuel to vehicles that have modified tanks or cooperate with consumers to misuse of subsidized fuel.
"Pertamina Patra Niaga strictly oversees the distribution of subsidized fuel in a targeted manner, and if there are indications of criminal elements of misuse of subsidized fuel, the action will be processed by applicable legal provisions", he told the media, Thursday, August 25.
Brasto said that the basic consumer regulations and the maximum purchase for subsidized Solar are Presidential Regulation No. 191 of 2014 and the Decree of the Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) No. 04/P3JBT/BPH Migas/Kom/2020.
"The manual recording of subsidized diesel purchases at gas stations that have been carried out so far allows us to see any unusual transactions for subsidized fuel after the transaction", said Brasto.

He explained that Pertamina continues to coordinate with law enforcement officials related to escorting the distribution of subsidized fuel.
"Throughout 2022, there were 5 cases in Central Java and DIY that have been revealed by the police, such as the use of modified vehicle fuel tanks to buy diesel at gas stations then stockpiled and illegally resold", he said.
Furthermore, Brasto explained that in addition to criminal snares, Pertamina has set sanctions for distributors who are proven to sell subsidized fuel incorrectly, namely in the form of a suspension of stopping distribution of subsidized diesel for 30 days until the termination of cooperation.
