KIP Aceh Submits Budget For Verification Of Local Political Parties Of IDR 8 Billion To KPU
BANDA ACEH - The Aceh Independent Election Commission (KIP) proposed a budget of IDR 8 billion to finance the registration and verification of local political parties as candidates for the 2024 General Elections to the KPU.
"We have submitted a budget for the registration and verification of local political parties to the Indonesian KPU. The proposed budget amounted to IDR 8 billion," said the Head of the Technical Division for the Implementation of the Aceh KIP Election, Munawarsyah in Banda Aceh, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 8.
He said there is specificity in the election. Where the election participants are not only national political parties, but also local political parties. The participation of local political parties in Aceh has been ongoing since the 2009 elections.
The participation of local political parties in the legislative elections in Aceh Province is only to elect members of the provincial DPRD or the so-called DPRA and the members of the city district DPRD called the DPRK.
The participation of local political parties is a mandate of Law Number 11 of 2006 concerning the Aceh government and its derivative regulations, namely Government Regulation Number 20 of 2007 concerning local political parties in Aceh.
Munawarsyah said the KPU had stated its commitment to finance the registration and verification of local political parties as candidates for the legislative elections in Aceh Province. The commitment was conveyed in writing through a letter sent to KIP Aceh.
"Verification of local political parties includes administrative verification and factual verification. Administrative verification is to check the validity of the management, membership, and others," he said.
While factual verification, includes checking the correctness of the administration submitted. Checks are carried out starting at the central management level, at least two-thirds of the 23 regencies and cities in Aceh Province.
"Then, check in two-thirds of the sub-districts in each district and city. And check the membership of at least one per thousand of the population for each level of management," he said.

He said that administrative verification is scheduled to take place from August 16 to 29, 2022. After administrative verification, factual verification will be carried out. Factual verification is only for local political parties that are declared to meet the administrative verification requirements.
"Until now, only two local political parties have registered as candidates for the 2024 General Election. We are still waiting for other local political parties to register. Registration lasts until August 14, 2022," said Munawarsyah.
