A Gang Of Criminals Who Break Into Hotel Projects, Hospitals And Bali Beach Clubs Arrested, Total Stolen IDR 1.2 Billion

DENPASAR - Police have arrested a gang of burglars on a hospital and hotel project in Bali. The total stolen proceeds from this gang of criminals reached IDR 1.2 billion.

The perpetrators who were arrested were Heri Susilo (34), Rismanto (38), Masduki (37) Adi Saputro (27). Meanwhile, another person named Jarno is still at large.

"This is a case of theft and the modus operandi is breaking into doors. This is a gang of the hotel, villa, and hospital burglars", said Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation of the Bali, Police AKBP Suratno, at the Bali Police Headquarters, Thursday, August 4.

This gang of criminals arrested after carrying out their actions at the Patina Hotel project, PT Mustika, Ubud, Gianyar Regency, Bali on May 9, 2022.

The action of this criminal group was known by hotel staff who reported missing hotel facilities. When checking CCTV footage, it appears that the perpetrators acted in the early hours of the morning bringing equipment belonging to the hotel in a rented vehicle.

“One of the perpetrators is a former worker at the hotel while working while supervising. When he was no longer working there then he came with his friends to steal", said AKBP Suratno.

From the victim's report, the police arrested the perpetrators at a rented shophouse on Jalan Tukad Balian, Sidikarya, South Denpasar on July 13.

"For the losses suffered, IDR 204,113,636. The items (stolen) are quite expensive and have only been used with a rental car. After the (stolen goods) are sold, one of the proceeds is used to rent a shophouse to buy goods and be used daily. days", said AKBP Suratno.

This gang of criminals in the initial examination admitted that they had acted in several locations. They rummage through the Teguh Murni Hospital project in Kuta, the Beach Club project in Canggu, and the Impiana Hotel project, Sayan Ubud, Gianyar.

They are also active in the Ciputra elite housing project in Tabanan and the Payangan Hospital project in Gianyar

"There were six crime scenes and the loss was quite fantastic. Judging from the missing items, IDR 1.2 billion, but because he needed money, all of the items were sold cheaply. In fact, the original was expensive", said AKBP Suratno.

The gang of criminals who were arrested was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with a threat of 7 years in prison.
