SUMUT - Police shot the perpetrator of the theft of a motorbike specialist in boarding houses in the city of Medan, North Sumatra (North Sumatra). The perpetrator with the initials B (42) was shot for fighting the officers.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Medan Police Area Commissioner Adjutant Philip said the perpetrator was a recidivist in a case of motor vehicle theft.
"The perpetrator had to be paralyzed in both legs because he resisted and threatened officers during the search for evidence," he said in Medan, North Sumatra, Sunday, July 31.
He explained that the arrest of the perpetrator was based on the victim's report who lost a motorcycle in the Menteng VII area on April 21, 2022.

Based on the report, officers conducted an investigation for approximately three months and succeeded in arresting the perpetrator at his hiding place.
"From the results of the interrogation, it is known that the perpetrator is a recidivist in the case of theft," he said again. As a result of his actions, the perpetrator was subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a sentence of more than 5 years in prison. "We have detained the perpetrator," he said.
