Borneo FC Can Beat Arema FC Inspired By Failure In The 2022 President's Cup Final

JAKARTA - Borneo FC defeated Arema FC with a score of 3-0 in their inaugural match in the 2022/2023 Indonesian League which took place at the Segiri Stadium, Samarinda, Sunday, July 24.

Borneo's coach, Milomir Seslija, was certainly pleased with his team's performance in the match. He said this victory could not be separated from their failure in the 2022 President's Cup final.

In the 2022 President's Cup final, Borneo lost 0-1 on aggregate to Arema. The club nicknamed Pesut Etam also learned from this failure to perform better.

"I know our problem is in the 2022 President's Cup final. We went to find a solution and today we played well in the first match," said the coach who is familiar with Milo after the match.

"In 10 minutes we scored two goals and created a lot of chances. Right now we are showing we are better than Arema," he continued, as quoted by Antara.

In addition, Borneo managed to take advantage of the crisis conditions experienced by Arema players. "We can make the most of the momentum," said Milo.

The result of three points in the inaugural match, Milo considers very important because it can increase the confidence of his players, to face the next match in the 2022/2023 Liga 1 competition.

"After losing in the President's Cup final, we needed something to make our confidence back. Luckily we met Arema again in the first league match, and we were able to show that we can win the game," explained Milo.
