Land Mafia Case, Police Arrest 3 National Land Agency Personnel

JAKARTA - The police have again arrested three officials from the National Land Agency (BPN) related to the land mafia case. Thus, a temporary total of seven suspects from the government agency.

"Today, the Harda sub-directorate of the Metro Jaya Police has arrested and detained 3 officials and former BPN officials related to the land mafia", said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner E. Zulpan in a statement, Friday, July 15.

The three BPN individuals had the initials NS (50), RS (58), and PS (59). From the interim examination, they have different roles in land mafia cases that occurred from 2016 to 2017.

Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Hengki Haryadi, said the suspect NS was the Head of the Palembang City BPN Office. However, when the crime occurred, he was on duty at the Bekasi Regency BPN office.

"NS is currently the head of the Palembang City BPN office. He is the former Head of Measurement Infrastructure at the Bekasi Regency BPN office", said Hengki.

Then, for the hospital, it is the Head of Survey at the West Bandung BPN office. However, when the alleged misappropriation of land occurred, he was the Head of Measurement and Mapping at the Bekasi Regency BPN office.

Then, the third suspect, PS. He is currently in retirement. However, when a crime occurred, he was the Measurement Coordinator for the Bekasi Regency BPN office.

"The three suspects were involved in the land mafia case in Bekasi Regency in 2016-2017. By publishing a field map based on a fake warkah. The field map overrides the victim's certificate", said Hengki.

With this arrest, a total of seven BPN officers have been arrested. Because the other four had been arrested a few days ago.

"Other suspects related to this mode have been detained by 4 people. In total, 7 people in this mode have been detained by a land mafia syndicate", said Hengki.

For information, the four members of the National Land Agency (BPB) who were previously arrested were assigned to the Jakarta and Bekasi areas.

Two of the four suspects had the initials PS and MB. Especially PS, he is the Head of PTSL BPN Adjudication for South Jakarta City Administration. Meanwhile, MB served as Chairman of PTSL BPN North Jakarta Administrative City.

In this case, the suspects are suspected under Article 167 of the Criminal Code and or Article 263 of the Criminal Code and or Article 266 of the Criminal Code Juncto Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
