Cars Fueled By Diesel Are The Most Contributor Of Vehicles Not Passing Emission Test In Batam
BATAM - A number of diesel-fueled vehicles did not pass the emission test in the inspection or free exhaust emission test held by the Batam City Environment Service (DLH) for three days.
"There are some that do not pass the emission test, most of which are contributed by diesel-fueled vehicles," said Head of the DLH Batam City, Herman Rozie in Batam, Riau Islands, quoted from Antara, Thursday, July 14.
Rozie explained that the free vehicle exhaust emission test is in order to make the Blue Sky Program a success initiated by the central government. In general, this program aims to control air pollution, especially from vehicle exhaust gases.
He explained that his party is targeting 1.500 vehicles to undergo the emission test as a test sample for air quality standards.
"The first day is in Temenggung, the second is at the Tiban Center. Two days it is around 1297. It has not been added to today. So the results of this activity will later be known, whether vehicles make a large contribution to air pollution or not," he said.

He appealed to vehicle owners who did not pass the emission test to carry out regular servicing and use good quality fuel oil.
“Perform regular service according to the provisions and the oil used is clean. In addition, we give a sign in the form of a sticker that the vehicle does not pass the emission test, so that the owner of the vehicle remembers that he has to service the vehicle," he said.
