BI Holds 2022 Digital Financial Economy Festival in Bali, Claimed To Be The World's Largest After the Pandemic
JAKARTA – Bank Indonesia (BI) today officially started the 2022 Indonesia Digital Financial Economy Festival in Bali.
BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said the event was held in a hybrid manner, both in person and in virtual attendance.
"This is the largest physical gathering ever to be held worldwide after COVID-19," he said while giving the opening remarks as broadcast via virtual channels on Monday, July 11.
According to Perry, the organizer of the 2022 Indonesia Digital Financial Economy Festival is also a side event of a series of G20 meetings this year.
“The activity will be held over the next one week. Come to Bali, we will enliven this festival," he said.
In order to contribute to the success of the event, the central bank also cooperated with a number of strategic partners, such as the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Bali Provincial Government, and various other partners.

"This event was attended by many parties across sectors, including business actors, and was witnessed by around 3,000 viewers through virtual channels," he said.
Citing a broadcast from Bank Indonesia, it is known that the value of electronic money (EU) transactions in May 2022 grew 35.25 percent (yoy) to reach IDR 32 trillion and the value of digital banking transactions increased by 20.82 percent (yoy) to IDR 3.766.7 trillion.
Meanwhile, the value of payment transactions using ATM cards, debit cards, and credit cards increased 5.43 percent (yoy) to IDR 630.9 trillion.
