Malaysia Masters 2022: Fajar/Alfian Qualifying, Indonesia Total Has Seven Representatives In Quarter Finals
JAKARTA - Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2022 Malaysia Masters. They became Indonesia's seventh representative in the last eight of the Super 500 BWF event.
Fajar/Rian got tickets after making a victory over the Thai pair Supak Jomkoh/Kittinupong Kedren with a score of 21-14 and 21-14 at the Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, on Thursday, July 7.
The fifth-ranked pair in the world is one of the two representatives of Indonesia's eight-year men's doubles. One other pair is veteran doubles Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan.
In the men's singles number, Indonesia also sent two representatives to the quarter-finals, namely Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.
The tickets that Anthony and Chico got made Indonesia automatically pocket one semifinal ticket in the men's singles number. The reason is, that Chico and Anthony immediately faced each other in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, in three other numbers, namely women's singles, mixed doubles, and women's doubles, Indonesia occupies one representative each in the last eight rounds.
In the women's singles is Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, the women's doubles are Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, and in the mixed doubles, there are Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.
A total of 12 representatives of the Red and White fought today in the second half, but five other representatives had to go home early. The women's doubles number is the sector with the most elimination with a total of three pairs.
They are Melani Mamahit/Tryola Nadia, Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi, and Febby Valencia Dwijayanti Gani/Ribka Sugiarto.
Meanwhile, each women's mixed and singles doubles has one representative who has to leave. The two representatives are Fitriani and Hafiz Faizal/Serena Kani.
