COVID-19 Update As Of July 5: 2.577 New Cases From Examination Of 91.018 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 91.018 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 2.577 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6.097.928 people and active cases rose by 878 to 17.354 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, July 5.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1.282 people, bringing the total to 5.913.807 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 3 cases and totaled 156.731 people.

The province with the newest cases was DKI Jakarta with 1.276 cases and a total of 1.274.772 cases. Followed by West Java which has 555 new cases with a total of 1.114.058 cases. Banten has 324 new cases and a total of 298.259 cases. East Java has 159 new cases and a total of 578.646 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 892 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 428 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 117 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 83 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 101.170.840.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 3.35 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 4.995 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently there are 201.616.400 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 169.192.447 of the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 51.180.596. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208.265.720 people.
