Fulfilling The Invitation Of The Government Of Saudi Arabia, Vice President Flies To The Holy Land To Perform Hajj
JAKARTA - Vice President (Wapres) Ma'ruf Amin left for Saudi Arabia, Tuesday, July 5. The vice president and his wife Wury flew to the Holy Land to perform the pilgrimage.
A spokesperson for Vice President Masduki Baidlowi said that the implementation of the pilgrimage which also coincided with the grand pilgrimage was an invitation given by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Vice President.
“Today the Vice President together with Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin paid a visit to Saudi Arabia. In this case, the vice president received an invitation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to carry out the hajj procession", Masduki said in his statement, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, July 5.
Masduki said the invitation for the pilgrimage, which was given by the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, to the Vice President, was conveyed through the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, Esam A. Abid Althagafi.
"This invitation was delivered by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on June 9 at which time the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia came to the residence of the Vice President", he explained.

Masduki said that at that time Ambassador Esam also reported on Saudi Arabia's readiness to organize the Hajj this year because it is known that in previous years the Hajj was not carried out due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Because it is safe, then the Vice President was invited by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to carry out this pilgrimage. God willing, in a week the Vice President will follow the Hajj procession", he said.
