Apriyani/Fadia Successfully Win Malaysia Open 2022, Becomes First Super 750 Title
JAKARTA - Indonesian women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti managed to come out as champions in the badminton tournament Malaysia Open 2022.
This title was obtained after they defeated representatives of China, Xang Shu Xian/Zheng Yu at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, on Sunday, July 3.
The pair who owned the 2021 SEA Games gold medal won with a score of 21-18, 12-21, and 21-19.
This is their first Super 750 level tournament title since making their debut in May. Fadia is Apriyani's partner after Greysia Polii's retirement.
Apri/Fadia reached the final at the Malaysia Open on a very remarkable note.
They recorded defeating several seeds, including the 2022 All England champions, Nami Matsuyama/Chiharu Shida in the second round.
Their slick record then continued to the quarter-finals. China's first seed Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan managed to become their victim.

The victory over Chen Qingchen and his partner also avenged their defeat in this month's Indonesia Masters final.
Indonesia still has one representative who will fight in the final of the Malaysia Open that year, namely the Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto doubles.
The sixth seed will meet Japan's second seed, Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi, in the last match of the day.
