Dmitri Medvedev Firmly Warns NATO To Not Violate The Crimea Bound: There Will Be World War III, A Total Disaster

JAKARTA - Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev issued a stern warning to the countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), not to try to encroach on their territory, or else it will cause a world war.

This was said by Medvedev regarding the position of the Crimean peninsula, according to which any disturbance there could be considered a declaration of war against Russia.

"For us, Crimea is part of Russia. And that means forever. Any attempt to encroach on Crimea is a declaration of war against our country," Medvedev told the Argumenty i Fakty news website.

"And if this is done by a NATO member country, it would mean conflict with the entire North Atlantic alliance; World War Three. A total disaster," he said.

Regarding Finland's and Sweden's plans to join NATO, Medvedev, who now serves as deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, confirmed that Russia would strengthen its defenses, including deploying missiles at the border.

"Ready for retaliatory measures and that could include the prospect of installing Iskander hypersonic missiles on their doorstep," concluded Medvedev.
