BNPT-FKPT Sultra Involve Youth To Prevent Radicalism And Terrorism
KENDARI - The National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) and the Communication Forum for Counter-Terrorism (FKPT) Southeast Sulawesi Province held a "workshop" involving youth in preventing radicalism and terrorism with national speech.
The "Workshop" was attended by 100 participants from high school/vocational and student representatives with the theme "Young Indonesian Expression" at the Kendari State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Auditorium, Monday, June 27.
Chairman of the Southeast Sulawesi Province FKPT Hj. Andi Intang Dulung explained that the "workshop" activity was the first face-to-face meeting for the youth of the FKPT Southeast Sulawesi Province after two years only being conducted online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Intang, his party is deliberately embracing the younger generation so that they are not easily incited to become perpetrators of terrorism and radicalism.
He said the young generation had high spirits and did not know their identity, so there needed to be guidance and direction so as not to fall into radical ideas.
"We involve youth because the target of understanding or the target they are looking for is youth. Youth is still unstable and they want their identity to be different from other people", explained Hj. Andi Intang Dulung quoted by Antara.
Meanwhile, the Head of Sub-Directorate for Supervision of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Faizal Yan Aulia explained that acts of terrorism are extraordinary crimes that have caught the world's attention.

According to him, the issue of terrorism does not involve certain religious beliefs, because all religions in Indonesia teach peace to their people.
"Once again, terrorism is a common problem for all components of the nation. When viewed from its impact, it will not only cause loss of life or damage to property, but also damage the stability of the country, especially in terms of economy, defense and security, and socio-culture", he said.
In this one-day "workshop", the participants were given the material on the active role of youth in preventing terrorism, training in creating creative content on terrorism prevention, and radicalism.
