Former Indomobil Employee Found Swollen In A Boarding Room In Jatinegara
JAKARTA - Residents of a boarding house on Mutumanikam Street, RT 04/11, Bidara Cina Village, Jatinegara District, Monday, June 27, suddenly panicked after it was found that one of the contractors had died in their room.
The victim, known to have the initials JI (29) was found in a supine position on the bed with a swollen body condition, and emitting an unpleasant odor.
According to Dandi (22) a boarding housekeeper, at first, he smelled a fishy smell that was originally thought to come from an animal. He also looked for the origin of the bad smell.
"There is a fishy smell like the smell of carrion, I think there are rats or cat food. I checked in an empty room, there wasn't any. I smelled the door to the boarding room (of the victim) and it turned out that the smell was coming from there", said Dandi to VOI at the location, Mutumanikam Street, Jatinegara, Monday, June 27.
After knowing the source of the unpleasant smell coming from one of the rooms in the boarding house, Dandi knocked on the door. But Dandi did not get an answer from inside the room. He also had time to break down the locked boarding room door, but he failed to do so.
"At first I wanted to break it down but didn't dare, I had to wait for Pak Haji who had a rental. Then I broke into the ventilation above. When I saw someone sleeping, everything was black, rotten, and smelled fishy. It's been more than a week (died)", he explained.

Dandi said the victim had lived in the boarding house for 4 to 5 years. The victim, said Dandi, lives alone.
"(victims) Rarely socialize with people here, have not worked either. Previously worked at Indomobil, since the Corona (COVID-19) pandemic, it seems that he has been laid off.
Furthermore, the discovery of the dead victim was reported to the Jatinegara Police. Police officers then contacted the DKI Jakarta Black Cross ambulance to evacuate the victim's body.
When the police officers arrived at the location, the officers found Milanta-type drugs in the room around the victim's body.
"There was the discovery of Milanta, stomach medicine. We don't know the exact cause (the victim died)", he said.
Dandi explained that he had last seen the victim 3 weeks ago. Dandi saw the victim leaving the boarding house to pick up the food he had ordered through online services.
"The last time I saw it was 3 weeks ago, I was able to take food on a motorbike taxi, then (the victim) didn't come out again. Never talked to anyone else. When found, the condition was swollen, and already blackened. The position (of the victim's body) was supine", he said.
After the identification process is complete, the victim's body is put into a body bag and taken to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital for further processing. Meanwhile, the case of the discovery of the body was handled by the Jatinegara Police.
