Clash Of Mass Organizations With TNI Members In The Parking Lot Of Indomaret Bekasi, Police Chase The Perpetrators Of Beatings

BEKASI – Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jatisampurna Police, Iptu Valerij Lekaheba, spoke about the commotion between members of the TNI (Indonesian Army) and several members of community organizations (Ormas) at a mini market in the Bekasi area.

According to Iptu Valerij, the incident occurred in Jatirangon, Bekasi City, Wednesday, June 22. However, Valerij denied that the commotion was initiated by members of the TNI.

Valerij continued, at first the TNI member entered a mini market. When he came out, he saw that there was a commotion. So the TNI members tried to intervene. However, continued Valerij, he was actually hit by members of the mass organization.

"The TNI member entered Indomaret and when he came out, he saw people being beaten, he broke free. Eh, he got hit instead", Valerij said when confirmed, Thursday, June 23.

"Not (TNI members who started)", he added.

The incident, Valerij said, was finally able to end after other TNI members suppressed the commotion.

However, after the incident, the victim, a member of the TNI, reported to the police. Now they are investigating the case.

"Yes, from members of the TNI (victims) who reported. We are currently conducting an investigation, looking for victims and suspects", he concluded.

Initially, a video showed a commotion at a mini market in the Bekasi area. The commotion involved members of the TNI and one of the mass organizations.

In the video, a man in a beige shirt looks angry at TNI members. He cursed TNI members because he felt that his family members had been beaten.

Another TNI member tried to break up the commotion. He then shouted at the citizens to contain his emotions.

The case is currently being handled by the Bekasi Jatisampurna Police.
