Guarding The Border From Crime, The Police Establish A Police Headquarters In Natuna
NATUNA - The Indonesian National Police inaugurated the Pulau Laut Mapolsek building on the border of the Republic of Indonesia on Laut Island, Natuna, Riau Islands.
"The inauguration of the new building for the Pulau Laut Police Headquarters is a real step in supporting the implementation of Polri's duties, to improve the quality of public services on the outer islands of Indonesia", said Inspector General of Police General Supervision (Irwasum), Commissioner Agung Budi Maryoto, after signing the inscription of the Pulau Laut Police Headquarters at the Natuna Police Headquarters, Ranai, Riau Islands, Thursday, June 23.
The existence of the Pulau Laut Mapolsek was built because of the high demand for public services for the Police, he said. In addition, Laut Island also has a strategic value as the outermost island of Indonesia which is directly adjacent to the South China Sea.
"With various potential vulnerabilities, including illegal fishing, marine accidents, drug trafficking routes, to smuggling of necessities", he said.
With the existence of the Marine Island Police Headquarters, he hopes that the National Police will realize cooperation in the security sector and the security posts for the outer islands by the TNI (Indonesian Army).
"This is done as a form of Polri's commitment to supporting the Government's work program, realizing a just, prosperous, and prosperous Indonesian society", he said.
