Delivering Dried Cannabis From Sumatra To Jakarta, 29-Year-Old Men Get Paid IDR 15 Million
JAKARTA - A courier for dry marijuana across the Sumatra-Java Province with the initials NP (29) did not move when he was arrested by the West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit. The suspect was arrested while smuggling marijuana by land using a car.
The suspect NP was arrested while carrying hundreds of packages of dried marijuana ready to be distributed on the Sumatra Cross Road, Pinyongek Hamlet, Ranjau Baru Village, Muara Sipongi District, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra.
When arrested, the police confiscated 214 kilograms of dried marijuana from the suspect NP. From the NP's confession, he was only ordered by the TA (DPO) to take marijuana-type narcotics by car.
"The perpetrators of the NP get a salary of IDR 15 million, for one shipment of marijuana-type narcotics", said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Pasma Royce, when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, June 15.
Commissioner Pasma said the results of this disclosure were the development of the previous network case. In total, he continued, as many as 752 kilograms of dried marijuana were successfully secured.
"Based on the information from the perpetrators, the marijuana-type narcotics will be sent to Padang and Jakarta for distribution", he said.

In the narcotics smuggling mode, the perpetrators packed the marijuana leaf-type drugs in bales, then covered them with duct tape, and then put them in sacks.
"We will not remain silent and will continue to return to further investigation steps at the farm level", he said.
The suspect was charged with Article 114 Paragraph (2) Sub-Article 111 Paragraph (2) Indonesian Law No. 35 of 2009, concerning Narcotics.
"The maximum penalty is 20 years and the maximum fine as referred to in paragraph (2) is 10 billion", he said.
