Most Ducati Riders From Italy, Allergic To Other Countries? This Is The Explanation

JAKARTA - Ducati is a team based in Bologna, Italy. It is only natural that the team is now reinforced by many riders from the Land of Pizza.

In the factory team, namely Ducati Lenovo, there is the name Francesco Bagnaia. Then at Gresini Racing there are Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio. While in VR46 Racing Team there are Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi.

So is Ducati allergic to using the services of racers from other countries? Not really. Take Jack Miller, for example, who has been with Ducati for five seasons. Then at Pramac Ducati there are the names of Jorge Martin and Johann Zarco.

The director of Ducati, Paolo Ciabatti, gave an explanation regarding the composition of the riders in his team. He said the lineup of Ducati riders reflects the situation in the market.

"When recruiting drivers, we naturally see their performance. That's why we recruit riders like Bagnaia, Bastianini, Miller Martin and Zarco," said Ciabatti, to Speedweek.

"The VR46 team is independent in rider selection, their strategy is to bring their own riders from the VR46 Riders Academy to MotoGP. That's understandable and that's good."

"At Gresini Racing, even before his death, team owner Fausto Gresini had plans to bring Fabio Di Giannantonio from their Moto2 team to MotoGP. When we decided two years ago to look for young talents," he continued.

Ciabatti emphasized that his party is not allergic to racers from other countries. However, he did not deny, the promising riders currently in Moto2 and Moto3 are mostly from Italy or Spain.

"We would love to have riders from Germany or England or from other countries. If you look at the promising riders in Moto2 and even Moto3, many of them are from Italy or Spain," said the Ducati boss.
