Floods Sent From Bogor Have Receded, Residents Of Kebon Pala, East Java, Clean Their Houses From Garbage And Mud
JAKARTA - Residents of RW 04 Kebon Pala, Kampung Melayu Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, began to clean up trash and mud leftover from the flood that had submerged the area since morning at around 03.00 western Indonesia time.
A local resident, Sumiyati, said the flood came from Bogor shipments. Currently, the height of the flood that inundated the neighborhood of RW 04 ranges from 25 centimeters to 40 centimeters.
"It's starting to clean up, we'll get rid of the garbage first and then the mud," Sumiyati said in Jakarta, Wednesday.
Sumiyati added that the flood height this morning had reached up to 70 centimeters. However, the residents chose to stay in their respective homes.

"We have never evacuated, at home. Except when the height is 200 centimeters, we evacuate the toddlers and the elderly, but if we are 40 years old and under we still (survive) at home," said Sumiyati.
Furthermore, she said that there have been more than three floods in her neighborhood since January 2022 until now.
"It's been more than three times the flood shipments. Have been here many times, it's a flooded area," said Sumiyati.
