COVID-19 Update As Of May 24: 345 New Cases From Examination Of 99,889 Specimens
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 99,889 specimens were examined with the result that there were 345 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,053,109 people and active cases have increased by 43 to 2,933 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, May 24.
Today's recovered cases increased by 288 people, bringing the total to 5,893,628 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 14 cases and the total was 156,548 people.
The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 148 cases and a total of 1,249,948 cases. Followed by West Java which has 57 new cases with a total of 1,106,348 cases. East Java with 25 new cases and a total of 627,537 cases. Banten with 23 new cases and a total of 292,987 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 94 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 65 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 26 recovered cases, and Bali with an additional 25 recovered cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 98,271,696.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.32 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 4,295 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 199.955,070 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 166,971,873 people have received the second dose of vaccination.
While the third dose of vaccination was 44,401,505. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
