First Apple Ceremony, Acting Governor Of West Papua: Throw Old Habits, Obey Applicable Rules

MANOKWARI - Acting Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw asked all officials and employees or state civil apparatus (ASN) within the West Papua Provincial Government to work seriously and obey the applicable rules for maximum service to the community.

Governor Waterpauw conveyed this in an inaugural applet in front of all officials and employees within the Papua Provincial Government, at the ceremonial field of the West Papua Province Governor's Office in Manokwari, Monday.

"Get rid of old habits, obey applicable rules, and prioritize the interests of the community in carrying out tasks in every Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD)," said Waterpauw as quoted by Antara, Monday, May 23.

The people of West Papua, said Waterpauw, always hope for a solution to every problem they face, therefore officials and employees must be sensitive and not make their own rules that only make people wait.

"My job is only to continue the development program that has been put in place by previous officials, which ones have been and which ones have not. If there are 'slanted' ones, it will be straightened out immediately," he said again.

Earlier on Sunday, May 22, Paulus Waterpauw took time to worship with the community at the GKI Lahai Roi Church, Pulau Mansinam, starting his journey of duty as the Acting Governor of West Papua.
