Ready To Launch New Technology, Tesla To Host Artificial Intelligence Day In August

JAKARTA - Tesla Inc. boss, Elon Musk said on Tuesday, May 17 that the electric car maker will host a second artificial intelligence day on August 19. Tesla is likely to expand on plans to perfect its self-driving technology.

"The goal of AI Day is to convince great AI/software/chip talent to join Tesla," the billionaire said in a tweet.

Reported by Reuters, the use of AI in self-driving cars has sparked debate around safety issues. But Musk has often argued that such vehicles are much safer than those driven by humans.

Tesla is developing software for its cars to drive without human intervention or supervision. However, today's full self-driving (FSD) systems require human monitoring and are not meant to work without the driver behind the wheel.

The company held its first AI day in August last year and Battery Day in September 2020, where it talked about the future of battery technology.

"Tesla AI Day #2 on August 19. So many cool updates!," Musk said in a tweet.

Investors and analysts are closely watching technology-focused events as companies dive deeper into their projects. Usually, Tesla provides concrete updates on launch targets and timelines.
