Massive Renovation, Lusail Circuit Won't Be The Opening Series For MotoGP Season 2023
JAKARTA - MotoGP will have a new season-opening race in 2023 following the renovation of the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar.
The circuit, which held the race at night, has extended its commitment to enliven MotoGP until 2031.
The circuit will also undergo major renovations as well as remodeling the paddock area and other supporting facilities as well as constructing a new area for spectators.
"Lusail will host the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix following the completion of work, which means the event will not be the opening series, as it has been since 2007," Dorna said in a statement.
