SEA Games Hanoi 2021: Indonesia Beat The Philippines 4-0
JAKARTA – The U-23 Indonesian national team successfully beat the Philippines with a 4-0 score in the third match of Group A of the Hanoi 2021 SEA Games at Viet Tri Stadium, Vietnam, on Friday, May 13, 2022.
Indonesia took the lead through Muhammad Ridwan's goal in the 18th minute. The Persik Kediri player shook the opponent's path after maximizing Egy Maulana's pass from the right side.
Shin Tae-yong's squad then widened the goal gap a minute before half-time. This time it was Rizki Ridho's turn to write his name on the scoreboard.
He maximized Syahrian Abhimanyu's kick from dead ball execution with a header to outwit the opposing team's goalkeeper.
In the second half of the match, Indonesia took a long time to add to its advantage. The third goal was recorded by Egy in the 74th minute.
This is the second goal of the 21-year-old player in this biennial event. He previously also contributed one goal when Indonesia beat Timor Leste.
Indonesia was awarded a penalty ten minutes later. The referee pointed to the white dot due to Ronaldo Kwateh being violated in the forbidden box.
Marselino Ferdinand, who appeared as the executor, did a good job of making Indonesia a 4-0 lead which lasted until the match ended.

This is the second win for Indonesia in the three matches that have been played. Another victory was obtained by Egy and his friends against Timor Leste.
Meanwhile, the only defeat was received by Indonesia when they faced Vietnam in the inaugural match.
Indonesia will next face Myanmar in the final match on Sunday, 15 May. If they win this match, Shin Tae-yong's squad will automatically qualify for the semifinals.
