Arsenal Humiliates Chelsea At Stamford Bridge, Competition For Champions League Tickets Heats Up
JAKARTA - Arsenal humiliated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge Stadium in the English Premier League continued, Thursday, April 21 in the morning of GMT+7 (Indonesian Time ). Arsenal won with a striking score of 4-2 in the London derby.
Arsenal's victory over Chelsea has practically made the competition for tickets to the Champions League hotter. Cannon London is now competing with Tottenham Hotspur for the top four positions.
Arsenal took the lead in the 13th minute thanks to Eddie Nketiah's goal which took advantage of a blunder from Andreas Christensen's back pass. However, four minutes later Timo Werner managed to equalize.
Emile Smith-Rowe put the visitors back ahead in the 27th minute, which Cesar Azpilicueta then replied five minutes later.
Nketiah restored the visitors' lead in the 57th minute when he capitalized on a Chelsea defensive error to make it 3-2.
Bukayo Saka sealed Arsenal's win when he converted a penalty kick in the 92nd minute. A penalty was awarded after it was determined that Azpilicueta had committed a foul.
This victory did make Arsenal still stuck in fifth position with 57 points. However, Mikel Arteta's team has collected the same points as Tottenham and only lost on goal difference.
Meanwhile Chelsea remain third with 62 points after saving one game more than Tottenham and Arsenal. However, the Blues have yet to confirm a place in the Champions League next season, as reported by Antara from Reuters.
