US Worries Weapons Sent To Ukraine Fall Into Militia's Hands

JAKARTA – In the midst of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the United States (US) reportedly lost track of tracking weapons shipments to Ukraine. The US is concerned that their weapons are falling into the wrong hands, not Ukrainian troops.

The Joe Biden administration estimates that providing weapons to Ukrainian troops risks ending up in the hands of militias and other groups that do not want to be armed, CNN reports. However, officials see failure to arm Ukraine as a bigger risk.

"We had a short time of readiness, but when we entered the fog of war, we were almost zero," said a source. "It falls into a huge black hole, and you barely feel it after a while."

According to Sputnik News, the US relies on the Ukrainian government for information about what is happening in the country due to the lack of US troops on the ground. Officials were given information they admit may have been handpicked to strengthen Ukraine's request for assistance.

“This is war – everything they do and say openly is designed to help them win the war. Every public statement is an information operation, every interview, every Zelensky appearance broadcast is an information operation," another source familiar with western intelligence told the channel.
