TikTok Expands Access To Effect House, Allows Users To Create Their Own AR Effects

JAKARTA - Eight months after testing a new augmented reality (AR) development tool called Effect House, TikTok is now extending beta access to all its users.

This tool will help the China-based social media expand its creative capacity, and ideally, take advantage of the latest visual effects trends to attract more content creators.

Effects House is essentially like Meta's Lens Studio Snapchat and Spark AR platforms, allowing creators to build AR effects, with a variety of templates and tools to simplify the process.

“Effect House offers learning tools and resources, equipping creators with intuitive design and development technologies that will empower them to build immersive and dynamic effects for the global TikTok community.

Effect House has many tools and learning resources for content creators. Basically, it will allow content creators to create their own AR effects, which other TikTok users can also use in their videos.

According to TikTok, more than 450 effects creators have published effects on the platform, inspiring more than 1.5 billion videos with over 600 billion views globally.

"All effects submitted will be reviewed by our Trust and Security team to help ensure they comply with our policies prior to release to the wider TikTok community," TikTok said.

TikTok has made steady growth by expanding its user base every year and adding more features to the platform. The company's ad revenue for this year is projected to be more than Twitter and Snapchat.

TikTok says their company is focused on developing a safe, authentic, and inclusive environment for its global community.

This is why submitted securities must follow TikTok's Securities Guidelines in addition to its Community Guidelines. There is also a requirement for content creators to report negatively used effects.
