2 Robbers Died, Victim Becomes Suspect, Residents Go To Central Lombok Police: Don't Let The Alibi Of Residents Are Afraid Of Fighting Crime
CENTRAL LOMBOK - A number of residents who are members of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) demanded the Central Lombok Police to release the victim of the robbery, Initial S (34) who was named a suspect. In that case, two robbers were killed on Desa Ganti Street, East Praya District.
This demand was voiced by NGOs during a peaceful demonstration at the Central Lombok Police, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Wednesday, April 13.
"Mr. Santi [the victim of a robbery] must be released, lest the residents are afraid to fight crime," said Tajir Syahroni in an oration at the Central Lombok Police Courtyard in Praya, Wednesday, April 13.
He said that he and other residents had come to defend the victims of robbery who had been designated as suspects by the Central Lombok Police. In addition, this is also to support law enforcement in Central Lombok in particular.
"Criminals must be fought, this has been shown by victims who managed to paralyze the robbers who were about to take their property," he said, confiscated from Antara.
He said that the victim never planned to become a victim of a robbery and would commit a murder, so what the victim did was to defend herself. "The community does not want to be a victim of robbery," he said.
Ali Wardana, during another demonstration, said that his party came to question the case of the victim of a robbery who was snatched and named a suspect because he had killed the robber who had been troubling the public. "This is very funny, because the victim defended himself," he said.
For this reason, he hopes that law enforcement officials can review the decision on determining the victim of a robbery to be a suspect, lest the residents will run away when dealing with criminals when they are robbed.
"Review this decision, so that there will be no turmoil in the community. There are indications that the Police are too quick in making decisions by setting the victim as a suspect," he said.
The Head of Matek Maling Sub-District, Ganti Village, Irwan, as the victim's family, said that he was confused about the determination of S as a suspect, even though he did it because he was defending himself. "I am confused about the determination of this suspect. We ask that our families be released," he said.
Central Lombok Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Hery Indra Cahyono said in front of the demonstration that his party promised to give the best decision for the community and would make a decision in a short time. "I will give the best decision for the community," he promised.
Previously, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Lombok Police, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) named the victim of a robbery with the initials S (34) as a suspect in the alleged case of two robbers who died covered in blood on the Jalanganti village highway, East Praya sub-district, Sunday 10 April, early in the morning.
"The investigation into this case has been upgraded to fingerprints, after examining witnesses," said Deputy Head of Central Lombok Police, Commissioner of Police Ketut Tamiana during a press conference at the local Polres yard, Tuesday 12 April.
