Oleksandr Usyk's Weight Loss 10 Kg In 1 Week After Russia Invasion Of Ukraine
JAKARTA - Oleksandr Usyk was so devastated by Russia's invasion of Ukraine that he lost 10 kilograms in one week.
Usyk's wife, Kateryna, claims her husband lost a lot of weight after Vladimir Putin launched his war in Ukraine on February 24.
Usyk, 35, flew back to his home country to join the Ukrainian army and enlisted with Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko, and Vasiliy Lomachenko, who also recently put his career on hold.
Kateryna told PravdaTUT how her husband lost weight due to the mental suffering of his country's war.
“Sasha (Kateryna's nickname for her husband) lost 10 kilograms in a week of the war. He was so scared, in such shock, he has so torn apart. He saw what I was doing. I said: 'Sasha, please, people are asking, you need to talk'.
"It's been really hard on him. At first, he digested it inside. Well, firstly, to be honest, we've never been in such a situation before. Our entire generation could never have imagined this. And here it is, the surprise.
"To be honest, he doesn't really like giving interviews normally, in peacetime. It's difficult for him now, of course, but he still shows up online, saying something."
"His position is clear. He has always been for Ukraine, he has always glorified him and will glorify him as long as he has sufficient health and strength. Now he understands how important it is to him, say, even for the next fight.

"For him, every fight is important, but now, when blood is being shed in your country, you want to glorify Ukraine, you want to be proud of it. I am very proud that I am from Ukraine, that I am Ukrainian! Thank goodness this happened."
Meanwhile, Usyk will still face Anthony Joshua this summer in a rematch for the world heavyweights. Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn hopes the event will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he believes Joshua will benefit from the presence of the home crowd.
The two boxers should agree on a place, but currently, Usyk is not sure to fight again in London, despite beating Joshua there in September to become world champion.
