Booster Vaccination In Malang City Is Only 27.29 Percent Of The Target Of 856 Thousand People
MALANG - The Malang City Health Office noted that the achievement of COVID-19 vaccination was only 27.29 percent of the total target of approximately 856 thousand people.
Head of the Malang City Health Office, Dr. Husnul Muarif, said that his party continues to accelerate vaccination so that it can reach 30 percent of the total target by the end of Ramadan 2022.
"The target of 30 percent, we are already at 27.29 percent. This week it is hoped that it can reach 30 percent", said Husnul in Malang, Thursday, April 7.
Husnul explained, that for now, the availability of booster vaccines that will be used for the people of Malang City is sufficient to achieve the 30 percent target. Because his party has detailed requests from several existing health facilities.
According to him, the data on the need for a booster vaccine from existing health facilities was then submitted by the Malang City Health Office to the East Java Provincial Health Office.
"We asked for the vaccine by the request from the health facilities. So we collect the number of requests for the health facilities, we will ask the provinces later", he said.

He added that the Malang City Government had received an additional supply of 8,000 doses of vaccine on April 6, 2022. The vaccine was directly distributed to several health facilities and used to vaccinate residents.
"Yesterday there were around 8,000 doses of Moderna and AstraZeneca. These are specifically for boosters and we immediately sent them to 38 existing health facilities", he said.
For information, booster vaccination is one of the requirements for people who will go home for Lebaran 2022. With the third injection of the COVID-19 vaccine, people who are going home do not need to show the results of an antigen swab test or PCR.
In the Malang City area, the vaccination target was generally 856 thousand residents, where the first and second doses had exceeded the existing target. In addition, the acceleration of vaccination for the elderly is also carried out.
Currently, in the Malang City area, there are 28,690 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 62 active cases. Of the total confirmed cases, as many as 27,390 people were reported to have recovered, and 1,238 people were declared dead.
