Learn From Conor McGregor's Hard Work And Big Dreams: From Plumber To MMA Star
JAKARTA - Conor McGregor talks about his humble upbringing in Ireland and his transition from a plumber to one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time.
The 33-year-old said he spent nearly two years working as a plumber in Ireland and claims that there were certain lessons he learned from his first job.
"No one is chasing your dreams and doing what you want to do, getting a job or getting in and doing a job," McGregor said, according to Essentially Sports, Friday.
"So, I got my first job going my way, which was plumbing. I mean, I spent 18 months doing that and I looked through the (MMA) sites. And I saw people who were fully qualified for it, you know, my back is bad and my posture is bad too.
"When I quit my job I left the plumbing. Obviously, I wasn't very happy, you know what I mean, but over time they saw the amount of work I was doing almost made me harden. I'm the hard-working athlete on the island. "
McGregor has always insisted that to achieve our goals we always pursue our dreams, believing that the most successful people are those who dream big.
