Task Force: 231 COVID-19 Patients In Bangka Belitung Declared Cured

BABEL - The number of recovered cases of COVID-19 in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel) increased again by 231 people as of Thursday, March 31. Thus, active coronavirus patients, who are still undergoing isolation to 647 people.

"Thank God, today the number of recovered COVID-19 patients has increased compared to the previous day as many as 94 people," said Secretary of the Babel Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force Micron Antariksa in Pangkalpinang, Thursday, March 31, quoted from Antara.

He explained that based on daily COVID-19 case data, there were 45 more confirmed COVID-19 cases spread across 17 people in Pangkalpinang, 10 people in Central Bangka, 9 people in West Bangka, 6 people in Belitung, and 3 people in Bangka Regency.

"Today, there are zero COVID-19 cases in South Bangka and East Belitung," he said.

He said the case of patients dying from COVID-19 also increased by one person in Belitung, because the patient had a congenital disease.

"Currently, there are 35 more probable COVID-19 cases and 40 probable deaths," he said.

He added that currently 559 of the 647 active COVID-19 patients are undergoing self-isolation and 88 patients are being treated at a special hospital for handling COVID-19.

"Currently 80 centralized isolation units have zero COVID-19 patients, so it is hoped that residents exposed to the corona virus with moderate to severe symptoms will switch to centralized isolation to accelerate recovery and reduce the potential for transmission of the corona virus in their environment," he said.
