Bekasi Prosecutor's Office Explains The Chronology Of The Arrest Of BPK Personnel

BEKASI - The Bekasi District Attorney's Office, West Java revealed the chronology of the case that led to the arrest of two individuals from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Representative of West Java Province.

Head of the Bekasi District Attorney's Office Ricky Setiawan Anas said the case began when the West Java Representative BPK conducted a routine inspection in December 2021.

"Then based on the findings of the West Java Representative BPK at the Bekasi District Health Office, the alleged APS perpetrator asked for IDR 20 million from each puskesmas with a total of 17 puskesmas and IDR 500 million at the Branchbungin Hospital," he said in Cikarang, Thursday, March 31.

On March 28, 2022, APS contacted M to directly hand over the money to the West Java Representative BPK. At that time, doctor A from the Community Health Center (Puskesmas Forum) prepared IDR 250 million while Doctor M from RSUD Branchbungin was only able to provide IDR 100 million.

"The Branch Bungin Regional Hospital was afraid but was only able to fulfill an amount of IDR 100 million," he said, quoted by Antara.

On March 29, 2022, the Bekasi District Attorney's Team, who received information regarding extortion by the West Java Province BPK, then followed up to reveal the truth of handing over IDR 350 million to APS.

A day later, the Bekasi District Attorney's Office conducted a search of the room occupied by the person in the Oakwood Apartment, South Cikarang District.

"Investigators found cash in a black backpack in the fifty and one hundred thousand denominations in the HF room, totaling IDR 350 million," he said.

Following up on the results of the search, the Bekasi District Attorney's investigation team immediately arrested APS and HF who were conducting an examination in the Bekasi District BPKD room.

"We immediately took the two of them to the Bekasi District Attorney's Office for further processing," he said.
