Mick Schumacher's Accident Causes Hass Lose IDR 14.3 Billion
JAKARTA - Mick Schumacher's crash in qualifying for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix last weekend could be a blow of a million US dollars (IDR 14.3 billion) for Haas. This was revealed by team boss Hass Guenther Steiner.
The German missed Sunday's race in Jeddah, though was not injured in the impact, as the wrecked car required a complete overhaul.
"The chassis itself doesn't appear to be damaged, the structure of the side impact... the engine too, I'm told Ferrari, seems fine, the battery too, and the rest is broken," Steiner told reporters.
"I think the cost is still quite high because all the suspension is gone, except the front left. I guess there's still nothing there. The rest is like powder, carbon powder.
"I don't know about the money yet, but these cars, between the gearboxes, the whole missing bodywork, the radiators... I'd say between half a million to a million (dollars)," Steiner added when asked about the cost of new parts.

Ferrari-powered Haas, who finished last in 2021 without a point, has made a fine start to the season and is fifth overall with Denmark's Kevin Magnussen scoring in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
Steiner says Haas will bring upgrades to the car but that everything needs to be managed carefully to maximize under-budget performance as there are still 21 races to go.
The next round will be the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on April 10.
