Carrying The Theme "Blast From The Past", IBL All Star 2022 Promises Many Things

JAKARTA - IBL All-Star 2022 will be held at the Bung Karno Basketball Hall, Jakarta, Thursday, March 31. In addition to presenting the competition for the stars, the event, which was temporarily vacuumed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will present many things.

Carrying the theme "Blast from the Past" which means an explosion from the past, IBL All-Star 2022 will present entertainment, slam dunk contests, and flashbacks on the history of basketball competition in the country.

The theme was chosen as a moment to look back on the glorious days of Indonesian basketball in the past through exhibitions, memorabilia, and exciting matches that brought together IBL 2022 stars to several past national basketball icons.

"This year's IBL All-Star does not only present matches, but also provides information, as a bridge to a moment in the early days of Indonesian basketball," said IBL President Director Junas Miradiarsyah, as reported by Antara.

"We will bring it back on March 31 starting from the exhibition, the memorabilia that retells the league from 1982 to the present because what we have achieved today cannot be separated from the journey of the past," he continued.

The main feature of IBL All-Star 2022 is a match that brings together the Red team and the White team where each team is filled with players chosen by the fans.

All Star Merah consists of three selected players from Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta, West Bandits Combiphar Solo, and Indonesia Patriots, as well as one player from Pacific Caesar Surabaya, Satya Wacana Salatiga and Bumi Borneo Pontianak. They will be led by coach Youbel Sondakh from Satria Muda.

Meanwhile, All-Star Putih was filled with players from Prawira Bandung, NSH Mountain Gold, RANS PIK Basketball, Amartha Hangtuah, Dewa United Surabaya, and Pelita Jaya Bakrie Jakarta. The team will be led by coach David Singleton from Prawira Bandung.

In addition to the competition between All-Star Red and All-Star White, there will also be skill contests, such as a slam dunk contest, three points contest, and a skill challenge contest.

In addition, there will also be Celebrity Games which will include Raffi Ahmad, Wijaya Saputra, Andovi Da Lopez, Rayi Putra, Augie Fantinus, Andi Batam, Asri Welas, Prisia Nasution, Novabela J. Massie, and Michael James who will be accompanied by player-coaches. Indonesian legend, Bambang Hermansyah.

This team will face another basketball legend who is also the younger brother of Bambang, Ali Budimansyah alias Budi Jordan.

The Budi Jordan team will be strengthened by Baim Wong, Daffa Wardhana, Jovial Da Lopez, Dochi Sadega, Aqsa Aswar, Yosi Project Pop, Welly Situmorang, Erica Karlina, Abigail Cantika, Yuni, and Arfa Thohir.

Andakara Prastawa, who will take part in the three points contest, said he was enthusiastic about being selected again to enliven the IBL All Stars this season.

"We want to have fun at IBL All Star, entertain fans, but if we can win, why not. It will be interesting because it brings together the best shooters in the league. The competition will be tough because there are many new players that I have never played against before," said Prastawa.
