PA 212 Demo Demands Minister Of Religion Yaqut, Denny Siregar Et Al Imprisoned, Refly Harun: Jokowi Should Have Objected Their Behavior
JAKARTA - The Alumni Brotherhood (PA) 212 and several Islamic organizations held a demonstration in front of the State Palace today.
The demonstrators demanded several names, from the Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Denny Siregar, Permadi Arya alias Abu Janda, Ade Armando to the arrest of the priest Saifuddin Ibrahim. The names are accused of having committed blasphemy.
Constitutional Law expert Refly Harun said the names that were targeted by PA 212 were figures who had been known as the main supporters of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Unfortunately at the same time, they were accused of blasphemy.
"So the perception arises that President Jokowi is a president who is anti-Islam, that's the problem, I don't even understand (why this perception appears)", explained Refly, quoted from the Youtube channel @Refly Harun, Friday, March 25.
Refly added that the Palace should not 'maintain' buzzers or buzzers who always fully support every policy. This is because this policy has an impact on democracy in the country.
"One of the characteristics of the failure of democracy is that the authorities maintain buzzers. Even though they should be released. In fact, Jokowi should object to the behavior of these people who insult religion. Because he dragged the name Jokowi who is considered anti-Islamic".
"But what if he is part of or assigned by the government? We don't know! What is clear is that the issues circulating are that each person has patronage but does not go directly to Jokowi, but the palace circle that has direct power to the palace", added Refly.
