Decentraland (MANA) Will Hold The First Fashion Week Event On Metaverse

JAKARTA – For the first time, the Fashion Week event will be held at Metaverse Decentraland (MANA). The fashion event is titled Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW). This is an unusual fashion week event because it is held in a virtual world.

Fashion week is usually held in big cities. Leading fashion designers were also present to witness several models wearing certain clothing products walking on the catwalk. But this time it's different, the fashion event will be held on a virtual demonstration stage for four consecutive days.

The virtual gaming marketplace Decentraland (MANA) will host the first Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) on its platform. Clothing products that will be worn by several models will be in the form of non-fungible tokens or NFTs. These dresses were designed by several world-famous brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Selfridges, Cavalli, Eli Saab, Vogue Arabia, Guo Pei, and others.

According to The Daily Hodl, MANA creative director, Sam Hamilton, said that while fashion is nothing new in the metaverse, the demand for stylish digital clothing is booming.

“Fashion and haute couture are nothing new in the metaverse. Decentraland has been at the forefront of rare and in-demand digital fashions since the launch of the avatar wearable in 2020”, added Hamilton.

"Since then, content creators have pushed the technical and stylistic boundaries of Decentraland wearables, and have created a thriving economy with over $1 million in sales of avatar wearables last year", he added.

The immersive fashion show will take place in the new Decentraland Luxury Fashion District and will feature a catwalk that has a futuristic look. It will also host pop-up and afterparty metaverse stores.

The shopping district in this area will surround a virtual runway and be inspired by the architecture of Paris's famous Avenue Montaigne, known for its chic clothing stores and décor. The event is scheduled to take place between March 24 and 27.

Meanwhile, the Decentraland (MANA) crypto price is trading at IDR 36,786 at the time of writing. Data from Coingecko reveals that MANA's price performance has decreased by 0.3 percent in the last 24 hours. MANA had penetrated its all-time highest price (ATH) at the level of IDR 83,590 on November 25, 2021.
