The Attorney General's Office Names 2 Suspects In PT Garuda Indonesia's Corruption Case
JAKARTA - Attorney General, Sanitiar Burhanuddin, stated that his party had named two suspects involved in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of aircraft for PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. 2011-2021.
"This morning, we have examined six people. And of the six people, we have named two people as suspects", said Burhanuddin at a press conference quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 24.
The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named SA or Setijo Awibowo who was the Vice President (VP) of the Strategic Management Office of PT Garuda Indonesia in 2011-2012 as the first suspect.
Apart from serving as VP Strategic Management Office, Setijo was also part of the Bombardier CRJ 1000 aircraft procurement team, as well as part of the PT Garuda Indonesia ATR 72-600 aircraft procurement team.
The second suspect has the initials AW or Agus Wahjudo, who served as Executive Project Manager Aircraft Delivery at PT Garuda Indonesia in 2009-2014. Agus is also a member of the CRJ 1000 aircraft procurement team and a member of ATR 72-600 aircraft procurement team.
"To speed up the process of investigating the two people, first, the suspect's brother SA was detained at the Salemba detention house of the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office. Meanwhile, Agus Wahjudo was detained at the Salemba detention house of the Attorney General's Office", he said.

Burhanuddin also revealed that the investigative team had confiscated 580 documents, then electronic evidence in the form of 1 cellphone, and 1 box or box containing documents for the trial of the PT Garuda Indonesia case at the KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission).
"We are still discussing this state loss. We ask BPKP (Financial and Development Supervisory Agency) to calculate this loss. Soon, the amount of the loss will be announced, but it is quite significant", said Burhanuddin.
