COVID-19 Update As Of February 24: 57.426 New Cases , 5.408.328 Accumulated Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 505.390 specimens were examined today with the result that there were 57.426 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5.408.328 people and active cases have increased by 14.591 to 586.113 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, February 24.

Cases recovered on the day increased by 42.518 people, bringing the total to 4.674.873 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 317 cases and a total of 147.342 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 12.937 cases and a total of 972.722 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with 6.855 new cases with a total of 1.154.383 cases. East Java with 6.643 new cases and a total of 516.176 cases. Central Java with 6.021 new cases and a total of 558.537 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 12.300 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 6.753 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 6.510 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 4.615 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 82.958.238.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 17.42 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 35.701 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 190.310.509 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 142.517.246 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 9.236.089. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208.265.720 people.
