Floods And Landslides Hit The Bedouin Area, No Casualties

BANTEN - Floods and landslides hit the Bedouin area in the interior of Lebak Regency, Banten Province after being hit by heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning.

"There were no casualties from the natural disaster in the Bedouin area", said Head of the Tagana Volunteer Lebak Regency, Iwan Hermansyah when contacted in Lebak, Antara on Thursday, February 17.

The natural disaster occurred at 17.00 WIB. As a result of the rain, the Cibarani River overflowed and caused four bridges to be flooded and one saba cultural post and six Saung Huma were slightly damaged. In addition, four houses in Ciranji Village, the Outer Bedouin settlement, were hit by landslides. No Bedouin residents have fled.

"We ask the Bedouin residents to stay alert for floods and landslides because the rain is still ongoing", he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Lebak Regency, Febby Rizky Pratama, said that his party sent officers to the field to monitor flood and landslide disaster areas in the Bedouin area.

"We are deploying a team of disaster officers to see the condition of the impact of natural disasters", he said.
