Spasojevic Brings Bali United To Stick Arema At The Top Of The Standings With A Difference Of One Point
JAKARTA - Bali United won over PSS Sleman with a narrow score of 1-0 in the match week 25 of Liga 1 2021/2022 which took place at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Stadium, Denpasar, Bali, Wednesday night.
Launching Antara, Thursday, the only goal scored by Ilija Spasojevic in the 44th minute made Serdadu Tridatu close to Arema FC at the top of the standings with a difference of one point.
In the first half, both teams immediately showed an open game with several opportunities created, such as PSM through Irkham Mila who targeted Bali United's goal.
Taking advantage of the chaos up front in the 14th minute, but Mila's shot was still inaccurate towards the Bali United goal which was guarded by goalkeeper Nadeo Argawinata.
It was Bali United's turn to attack the Java Super Eagle defense, such as Spaso's golden opportunity in the 18th minute from a pass sent by Privat Mbarga, but PSS goalkeeper Rizky Darmawan could still secure it.
In the 25th minute, Privat received a pass from Spaso, but his shot was still not accurate towards the goal of Laskar Sembada.
Again, Bali United got a chance through Spaso who was already dealing with goalkeeper Rizky, but his shot was still secured.
Finally, the goal that Bali United had been waiting for was created in the 44th minute when PSS goalkeeper Rizky mis-passed the ball which instead led to Spaso, and was immediately executed into a goal.
Spaso had time to control the ball past Rizky's block, but let it go so he easily entered the ball without guard, while making the score 1-0 to close the first half.
In the second half, Bali United again attacked the opponent's defense and created opportunities even though they could not add goals, while PSS also did not want to lose.
In the 65th minute, PSS through Wander Luiz had a chance to shoot but still could not break into the goal guarded by goalkeeper Nadeo.
Luiz got another chance in the 81st minute through a cross from Ramdani Lestaluhu, but his header was not accurate towards Bali United's goal.
Likewise, Bali United could not add to their goal tally until the match ended, so they had to settle for winning with one goal without reply.
With this victory, Stefano Cugurra's team immediately replaced Bhayangkara FC, which was previously in second place in the 2021/2022 Liga 1 standings, while PSS remained in 12th place with 28 points.
