Positive Cases Of COVID-19 In Sangihe Increase To 101 People

SANGIHE - The spokesman for the handling of COVID-19 for the Sangihe Islands district, Handri Pasandaran, said that the number of positive COVID-19 cases in the area had increased by 56 to 101 people.

"Today, 56 positive cases of COVID-19 have increased again, bringing it to 101 cases," he said in Tahuna, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

According to him, some of the 101 COVID-19 patients are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, while the others are undergoing centralized isolation in the Tahuna SKB building and in isolation areas in sub-districts and villages.

"Patients who are hospitalized are those who have co-morbidities and who cannot self-isolate," he said.

To date, there have been 1,245 cases in total since 2020. Meanwhile, the current 101 active cases are from 11 sub-districts each; North Tabukan District 19, Tahuna 26, East Tahuna 15, Tamako 8, West Tahuna 7, Central Tabukan 2, Kendahe 1, Manganitu 5, South Tabukan 2, Tatoareng 5 and South Manganitu 5 cases.

The increasing number of confirmed cases of COVID-19, he said, must be taken seriously by all citizens.

"We all have to be in line to suppress the transmission of COVID-19 by carrying out vaccinations and implementing good health protocols," he said.

He invited people who had not been vaccinated to immediately vaccinate to increase their immunity against the COVID-19 virus.

"We invite all residents to immediately get vaccinated for those who have not. And for those who have been vaccinated, immediately follow-up vaccinations when the time is right," he said.
