Just Arrived In Beijing, 6 Members Of The German Olympic Contingent Tested Positive COVID-19
JAKARTA - The German Winter Olympics contingent was hit by the COVID-19 outbreak ahead of the Games' opening, with six cases confirmed upon arrival in Beijing.
The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DSOB) Thursday said the six cases resulted from PCR testing by Chinese authorities when members of the contingent arrived at Beijing airport on Thursday.
Quoting Antara, Friday, February 4, as many as 78 other members of the German contingent who participated in the trip all tested negative.
The DSOB said in a statement that the positive cases of COVID-19 affected three undisclosed sports, and did not name those involved, and did not specify whether they were athletes, coaches, or support staff.

Those affected are all symptom-free and have been isolated from the rest of the team.
On Wednesday, skater Nolan Seegert was confirmed as the first positive case among the German team for the Olympics, which will open on Friday.
