JAKARTA - PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk through its subsidiary PT Suri Tani Pemuka (STP) recorded exports of fishery products worth IDR 524.6 billion in 2021. The achievement of this company owned by conglomerate Handojo Santosa skyrocketed 30.5 percent compared to the export value of fishery products in 2020.

Meanwhile, products such as processed tilapia, shrimp, and eel are shipped to various countries such as the United States, Canada, as well as several countries in Asia (Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, Singapore) and Europe (Italy). President Director of Suri Tani Pemuka, Ardi Budiono, said the increase in exports was in line with the company's strategic plan to expand the market.

"This export is also a form of STP's support for the government in boosting state revenue through accelerating the volume of national exports, especially in the field of aquaculture", said Ardi in a press release, quoted Wednesday, February 2.

For example, due to its quality, one of STP's aquaculture products, namely tilapia which is cultivated directly in Lake Toba, has become one of the importance of fishery products that are in great demand in the international market.
