NFT Fever Doesn't Make Kanye West Tempted, Instead Rejects It

JAKARTA - The NFT token fever among world celebrities did not make Kanye West tempted. The singer from the United States stated that he would not be buying Bored Ape Yacht Club nonfungible (NFT) tokens in the near future.

Even in an Instagram post made on Monday, January 31, with the strong words YE, criticized the ongoing NFT fever. “Don't ask me to do some damn NFT.” Message in photo, shared for his 10.5 million followers. He also explains that he focuses on "building real products in the real world."

He didn't mince words in the follow-up comments to the Instagram post:

“STOP ASKING ME TO DO NFT NOT A FINNA CO-SIGN… FOR NOW I AM NOT ON THAT WAVE I MAKE MUSIC AND PRODUCTS IN THE REAL WORLD”.

While currently, celebrities including Neymar, Eminem, and Jake Paul have already started making cash for NFT in 2021. Billionaire and former presidential candidate Kanye West is firmly against virtual tokens.

Kayne West joins a growing list of NFT skeptics, including celebrities like Keanu Reeves. The film star Reeves joked in an interview for the Matrix Resurrections film that NFT was "easy to reproduce."

Unlike Reeves' character Neo, who is trapped in the Matrix, Ye will continue to work on "real products" in the "real world". The album West Donda 2 is scheduled for release on February 22. Meanwhile, NFT fans will wonder how Ye could be so heartless like that?
