All Of Us Are Dead Series Review: Zombies Vs School Boys With So Much Horror
JAKARTA - All of Us Are Dead is the latest zombie series from South Korea that airs on Netflix. This series directed by Lee JQ presents a school as a background story.
Adapted from a webtoon by Joo Dong Geun, All of Us Are Dead tells the story of a school atmosphere that turns dark after a zombie outbreak strikes. Here we get to know Nam On Jo (Park Ji Hu) and Lee Cheong San (Yoon Chan Young), two close friends who always go out together.
Then there is Choi Nam Ra (Cho Yi Hyun) the quiet class president, Lee Soo Hyeok (Park Solomon) a popular student, and Yoon Gwi Nam (Yoo In Soo) a bully who often looks for victims.
The peaceful school situation changes after Kim Hyeon Ju (Jung Yi Seo), their classmate turns into a zombie. Will they survive the zombie outbreak or will they follow Kim Hyeon Ju's footsteps?
All of Us Are Dead starts off with a thin, easy-to-understand character introduction. Their story also turns into action as the presence of zombies from the beginning of the story.
The main characters who are high school students are described as clueless and this is one of the interesting points. They even make movie references and knowledge about zombies when talking to their friends. Here, the audience is drawn into the story of the Hyosan High School student.
On the other hand, the problems of young people today also have a good story placement. Call it the phenomenon of bullying, sexual harassment, parent and child problems, dealing with adults to government and military institutions. I think those who watch will relate to the series of subplots of All of Us Are Dead.
The production design presented also performs optimally along with the acting of the players who are able to provoke sympathy. Some of them are Yoon Chan Young, Park Ji Hu, Cho Yi Hyun, even Lee Yoo Mi as Lee Na Yeon acted very well.
All of Us Are Dead doesn't have an empty subplot, it's all useful and connected. 12 episodes with a duration of 60 minutes is considered long enough but still fits the narrative.
At first glance, All of Us Are Dead does not offer anything new, but the story is doubly creepy and leaves a touching impression. Some small details make this series appear different from the zombie story in general.
Meanwhile, the All of Us Are Dead series can be watched on Netflix starting Friday, January 28 at 15.00 western Indonesia time.
