West Java DPRD Reminds Disaster Mitigation Related To High Speed Trains
BANDUNG - The West Java (West Java) Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) reminded about disaster mitigation to the potential for economic space for the community in the process of building the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train.
"This is related to the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train that can provide benefits to the community in serving transportation services. Of course, at transit stations at several points such as Karawang, Padalarang including in Bandung," said Deputy Chairman of the West Java Provincial DPRD Achmad Ru'yat, in Bandung quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 20.
The matter regarding disaster mitigation and economic potential, said Achmad Ru'yat, was conveyed by his party when chairing a working meeting of the Special Committee VI of the West Java DPRD with the President Director and the ranks of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) at Halim Station, Jakarta.
According to Achmad, disaster mitigation in infrastructure projects is important to minimize risks that might endanger the surrounding community.
"So that after the construction is completed and the fast train is operational, it is hoped that it will have an impact on the community's economic space," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Special Committee VI of the West Java DPRD, Hasbullah Rahmad, said that the presence of the fast train could facilitate access to transportation from Jakarta to Bandung.
"The fast train itself will later develop infrastructure connectivity such as roads leading to the station. This is done so that people can access the fast train station more quickly," he said.
Hasbullah added that connectivity between Jakarta-Bandung must also be included in the structure of the development space.
He also hopes that each station must create a place for MSMEs for the surrounding community so that they can empower the economy of the surrounding community.
