TNI In Papua Help Residents Repair Damaged Bridges

PAPUA - Soldiers from the TNI Koramil 1709-03/Waropen Bawah together with the residents of Piro SP3 Village, Waropen Papua Regency, did a community service to repair a damaged bridge as the main access for public transportation.​​

Quoted by Antara, Babinsa Koramil 1709-03/Waropen Bawah Second Sergeant Mahfuz Jamil said that the repair of the damaged bridge due to the rotten wood of the bridge, endangering people and passing vehicles.

"After the trees were cut down, we and the residents worked together to bring the wood to replace the rotten wood on the bridge," he said in Waropen, Wednesday, January 19.

Second Sergeant Mahfud explained that the existence of the bridge was the only access road connecting the village.

"If this bridge is damaged, it can cause the transportation of residents to be paralyzed in their daily activities, both students and people who are active in gardening and so on," he said.

When they found out that the bridge was damaged, he said, the residents together with Babinsa personnel planned a brief repair so that it could function.

Through activities like this, he hopes to cultivate the spirit of gotong royong for all residents because no matter how hard the work, if they work together, it will be light.

Meanwhile, a local resident named Fieter admitted that this bridge is very important for residents because it is an access to transportation in the village.

"Thanks to the presence of babinsa in repairing this bridge, we feel very grateful because babinsa has come to help us in this work," he said.
